Dhirubhai-1 FPSO docks in Sri Lanka

Unemployed floater will be located at port for about six months

The Dhirubhai-1 floating production, storage and offloading vessel has arrived at a port in Sri Lanka where it is expected to be docked for at least six months.

The floater is owned by Aker Floating Production and was stationed at the MA oilfield in the Reliance Industries-operated Block D6 off eastern India from 2008 until late 2018.

The MA field was shut down permanently on 17 September 2018.

The FPSO reportedly arrived recently at the Port of Hambantota in Sri Lanka with the assistance of the services company Hayleys Energy Services.

During its stay at the Port of Hambantota, Hayleys Energy Services will reportedly offer lay-up support, vessel preservation, husbandry, bunkering, crew management and several other marine services for the Dhirubhai-1 FPSO.
