EIA: Shale oil, gas output seen rising

Permian expected to see large growth in oil and gas realms
Oil and gas production from the seven major onshore US shale plays is expected to rise in February, the US Energy Information Administration said.
Oil production from shale is expected to grow 62,000 barrels per day to 8.179 million bpd next month, the EIA said in its January drilling productivity report.
The booming Permian will see the biggest growth, adding 23,000 bpd of oil production for 3.854 million bpd, according to the report.
On the natural gas side, the EIA forecasts output to grow 849 million cubic feet per day to 77.557 billion cfd in February.
The Appalachian basin, which houses both the Marcellus and Utica shale plays, will see the most growth and add 232 million cfd for 7.741 billion cfd.
The Permian, which has abundant gas production associated with oil output, will also contribute growth. The basin is expected to add 221 million cfd next month for an average 13.184 billion cfd.
