LOC in Brunei win

Contractor to provide range of services to BSP

LOC Group was secured a three-year contract with Brunei Shell Petroleum (BSP) to provide a range of services to its oil and gas operations in the Sultanate.

The UK-headquartered contractor’s workscope includes marine assurance audits, dynamic positioning consultancy, surveying and rig move support services.

LOC will now set up a new corporate entity in Brunei Darussalam, where it will start in-country services before year-end.

“With the joint effort of various departments within LOC, this is the fourth marine assurance contract LOC Singapore has secured with a major oil and gas company in Asia this year,” said LOC managing director South East Asia, Olof Koning.

“We continue to enjoy good momentum in the market and are very pleased to be assisting BSP with their operations in Brunei and to be establishing another new operating location to add to our regional portfolio.”

BSP, which has producing and exploration assets offshore and onshore Brunei, is a 50:50 joint venture between the host government and Anglo-Dutch supermajor Shell.

The value of LOC’s 36-month contract was not disclosed.
